Ask the Duchy
In February and March, the Duchy held a series of community events, offering the residents of Faversham and neighbouring villages an opportunity to ask questions, share their views and learn more about the proposed new neighbourhood: South East Faversham.

Thank you for joining us
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us. We had some fantastic conversations, listened to your concerns and answered a wide range of questions.
Many of you said how much you appreciated the opportunity to speak one-on-one with the team and get clear, transparent information. We know some people arrived with concerns, often shaped by misinformation, and left feeling more informed and reassured after speaking with the Duchy.
You asked important questions about key aspects of the proposals, including why some difficult choices, like building on agricultural land, have been necessary.
Insights from Faversham
The majority of people were positive about the plans and told us they felt this was the best scheme to bring forward the much-needed homes.
Why? Because the detail we were able to share helped show how the neighbourhood responds to Faversham’s needs and offers real, long-term benefits for the community.

Your main concern – building on agricultural land
We know building on agricultural land is an issue for some but after discussion most understood why it really is the only choice to help Faversham tackle its local housing crisis and deliver homes for local people.
You can read more about this and our responses to the most commonly asked questions in our feedback summary, below.
A preferred choice for Faversham
It was encouraging to hear that many residents trust the Duchy to deliver the homes Faversham needs —recognising the care and attention behind a high-quality, sustainable development guided by local needs and inspired by the character of Faversham.
Let’s keep the conversation going!
We’ve really enjoyed and valued the chance to engage with you, clear up misunderstandings and provide clarity on key topics. These conversations have been incredibly important and we look forward to continuing them.
We’ll be holding more coffee mornings at The Alexander Centre, Faversham on:
Friday 2nd May, 11am to 1pm
Saturday 7th June, 10am to 12pm
Friday 4th July, 11am to 1pm
Come and talk to us.
