In accordance with the Swale Local Plan Review 2021 allocation, the Duchy has drawn together an emerging masterplan to deliver 2,500 homes and an aspiration to provide for 2,500 jobs. The proposals are to bring forward a very high quality, sustainable, landscape-led, mixed use settlement that will become a thriving new urban extension to the town.

1 Development to both sides of the A2 Canterbury Road creating new gateway into town and an opportunity to slow traffic.

2 Proposed new local market street providing services and jobs, connecting through to Selling Road with pedestrian and cycle linkage to Love Lane

3 Local Centres providing services and jobs are provided across the masterplan providing services and facilities within a 5 min walk for all residents.

4 Macknade Farm buildings to be repurposed as a commercial and employment area.

5 Faversham Cricket Club relocated ground to a new location in the heart of the settlement with improved facilities.

6 Faversham Football Club with new training pitch provided to the south.

7 Three form entry primary school located centrally to encourage walking to school.

8 Salters Lane and Selling Road character retained as green rural lanes by integrating within green corridors.

9 Network of green corridors for people and wildlife, providing new habitats, public open spaces, play and routes for walking and cycling from Faversham to the wider countryside.

10 Permanent water bodies within the Site as part of a wider water reuse strategy that also provides habitats for wildlife.

11 Linear Park and landscape bund providing a strategic landscape buffer along the M2 with opportunities for new habitats, public open spaces, play and growing food.

12 Cycle and pedestrian railway bridge improving connections within the Site and to the wider community.

13 Eastern parcel land to be predominantly an employment area with mixed use blocks along the railway.

14 Link through Preston Fields to A251 subject to planning consent.

15 Link to the north through East of Faversham expansion area towards Graveney/ Whitstable Road subject to landowner consent, highway capacity and planning consent.
